The Amicae (Friends of
Zeta) Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc was the first sorority to
charter auxiliary groups. The first group was The Amicae which
means friends of Zeta. The Amicae are a group of upstanding,
community focused women who do not have college degrees but wish to
affiliate with a sorority. The first Amicae group was chartered
in 1947. The Orlando chapter was chartered in 1974 and continues
to do great works in the community. Annually they sponsor Teen
Choices a six week program that engage, inform and encourage
today’s youth to reach higher and do better. There are
workshops, forums and field trips and it culminates with a beautiful
award ceremony. We are proud of our Friends! For more information
please email the coordinator at TheAmicae@orlandozetas.org.
Zeta was also the first sorority to have a defined youth
program. The program is broken down into three age groups.
